Sturdy, compact, clump-forming rosettes that are very hardy. Clusters of star-shaped, grape-purple blooms. Well-branched with blooms climbing up the strong stems. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds and is also deer resistant. Remove spent flower stems after bloom. Best results in fertile soil with a neutral to alkaline pH, but grows easily in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils as well.
